Click start > run.  
Enter control userpasswords2 (Without Quotes). 
Click the advanced tab.
Click the advanced button in the advanced user management area.
Click on users in the left hand panel.
Double click on administrator in the center panel.
Remove the check next to account is disabled.
Click apply then ok. 
Log off, switch user or shut down.
During the next logon you will be prompted to enter a password for the administrator account.

Click start > run. 
Enter "netplwiz" (Without Quotes).
Single left click on the user account to modify.
Click on 'Properties'.
Click on the 'Group Membership' tab.
Click the checkbox next to 'Administrator'.

Answer 'Yes' to the log off request.
This can be combined with 'Disable and Enable Windows Vista/7 UAC' and 'Enable the 'Administrator' account on the Windows Vista/7 welcome screen'

Locate the file, folder, or drive which you want to take ownership in windows explorer.
Right click on file, folder, or drive and select 'Properties' from Context Menu.
Click on 'Security' tab.
Click on the 'Advanced' button.

Click on the 'Edit' Button and select a user from the list.
Click Ok to apply.
Place a check in the box 'Replace owner on subcontainers and objects'.
Click Ok when the Windows Security Prompt is displayed.
Now click Ok again to exist from Properties window.
